An Introduction to Active Dreaming
Monday, February 6 at 6:30 PM
Active Dreaming is a method of dream working which synthesizes modern dreamwork and ancient shamanic practices. It views dreams as experiences, believes the dreamer is the only authority on the meaning of their dreams and inspires the dreamer to explore those dreams. Learn the core technique of Active Dreaming know as the Lightning Dreamwork process. This is a quick, fun, and respectful way to share dreams. Please bring a Dream journal if you keep one.

The Beauty and Wonders of National Parks
Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 PM
Join Dr. Richard Benfield as talks about his experience of working with the Canadian National Parks. He will also draw from his many years teaching about National Parks and World Heritage Sites and his personal travels all over the United States to visit the 59 parks of the US National Park system. He will also highlight the National Parks in East Africa, the Himalayas, South-East Asia and South America.

A Virtual Tour of
the Hill-Stead Museum

Join Margaret Vaughan, Director of Education at the Hill-Stead Museum as we explore history, art, and architecture during a virtual tour of the 1901 Colonial Revival home of the Pope and Riddle families, located on the grounds of the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington CT. Discover the many decorative arts that grace this expansive home.

Healing With Books:
Stories of the Use of Books as Medicine
Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 PM
Historian Mary Mahoney will give a talk on bibliotherapy, or the use of books as medicine. Have you ever turned to a book for consolation? Treasured the escape of a comic book? Found comfort in a poem, self-help book, or simply from reading the newspaper?
This talk will explain the many uses of books as medicine in our world today and its history. Attendees will also be invited to reflect on their own lives as readers.

Black History in Connecticut: Artifacts from the Connecticut Historical Society
Tuesday, February 28 at 6:30 PM
Join the CT Historical Society for a virtual tour of items from their collection representing the Black experience in CT. Learn about Harlem Renaissance writer, Ann Petry. Examine daguerreotypes by Augustus Washington, who abandoned a successful Hartford photography business to build a new nation in Africa. See artifacts documenting the Civil Rights movement in our state.
