Brandeberry Winery was founded in 2009 by the late Jim Brandeberry, former Dean of Engineering at Wright State University. With a long history of making award winning amateur wines, Jim decided to open a winery after he retired from Wright State University. As a college professor, Jim was a teacher at heart and loved to teach people about grapes, wine making, and wine tasting. The winery has a long history of supporting the community through various fundraisers. One cause near and dear to our hearts is the Clark County SPCA. Our annual Dogtoberfest fundraiser provides support to the SPCA.
We have a wine for every palate. The current wine varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese, Vidal, Riesling, LaCresent, Cayuga, Moscato, Cranberry, Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. Fruit wine is one of our specialties. Brandeberry Winery has snagged the award for Best Fruit Wine at the Ohio Wine Competition on several occasions for both its Blackberry and Black Dog wines. All wines are handmade on site in small batches utilizing methods from the winery's founder, fondly remembered as the Lil' Olde Winemaker.
