The area that is now Dearborn, Michigan (population: 97,775) was first settled in 1786. It is a city rich in history. It is the hometown of Henry Ford, who built Fair Lane, one of America's most beautiful and impressive homes.
Because of the significant impact made on the City by Henry Ford, Ford Motor Company - not surprisingly - has its world headquarters here. The City is also home to other major corporations as well as, institutions of higher learning: the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Davenport University, and Henry Ford Community College.
Dearborn is currently in the midst of a renaissance. Its East and West downtown districts are witnessing the arrival of new businesses, new upscale housing, as well as the reinvestment of millions of dollars from the private sector and the City itself.
