SOMERVILLE, NJ – Somerville Arts on Division (AOD) is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2023. Beginning with a single exhibit on Division Street, AOD has evolved into an annual Fall arts festival with performances, demonstrations, live painting, artisan markets, exhibits and children’s activities.

Over the years, AOD has created an art gallery, sculptural installations, murals, storefront exhibits and art markets.  The organization strives to provide relevant art to the community and a variety of opportunities for local artists.

The Greenway Mural Project is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 at Bridge and Green streets,.  Artist Leon Rainbow has designed the street mural and the community is invited to join in and paint the mural.

The project was created to connect the community to the surrounding Peters Brook Greenway trails, to contribute to pedestrian safety and to engage the diverse Somerville community in a shared  purpose.

AOD is a nonprofit arts organization that receives donations and support from the community. Volunteers interested in painting the mural or helping with other activities on the event day, should visit www.artsondivision.com to register.  Refreshment and other donations are welcome!

The project is made possible by a grant from AARP NJ.  The Somerville YMCA is a partner in the Greenway Mural Project.
