Aims and Purposes

The Aims and Purposes of the Central Washington Junior Livestock Show are to encourage modern selection, raising and showing techniques of beef, sheep, and hogs.  To promote an understanding of the beef, sheep, and hog industry in youth, and provide healthy competition that promotes life skills, such as sportsmanship, proper decision making, and responsibility with the "hands on" approach of learning by doing.  Implementing food safety and quality assurance are promoted by requiring good record keeping proper handling of livestock feeds and additives, and the proper use of animal health products.  The moral responsibility of each livestock exhibitor cannot be stressed enough.
