About Green Mountain
Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival was founded in 2005 by violinist Kevin Lawrence in the Lake Champlain and Burlington, Vermont area. Now in residency at St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont the Festival brings together young string musicians from around the U.S. and several other countries with professional string teachers from many conservatories and universities, to work together for a month each summer. Student and faculty concerts during late June and most of July offer a rich assortment of chamber music experiences to our audience members, both on campus and in the surrounding community.
Diversity and Inclusion
Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival aims to create a diverse and inclusive musical community that values the unique experience of all individuals, providing a supportive environment for artistic and personal growth with a focus on empathy, effective communication, and mutual inspiration. GMCMF also strives to remove financial barriers that may prevent students from participating in its programs. GMCMF believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential for the growth and success of classical music and education.
