Greenwich Odeum

59 Main Street
401-885-8160

The Greenwich Odeum opened its doors for the first time on October 15, 1994, after three years of development by a group of dedicated volunteers. It is truly one of the remarkable stories in Rhode Island, a 100 percent volunteer driven program that has served as an economic catalyst for Main Street in East Greenwich, and as a thriving performing arts center in Central Rhode Island.

The Odeum remains completely volunteer run, and is classified as a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution.

It was after months of renovation to the former Greenwich Theater that the Odeum's first production, Love Letters performed by Victoria Wyndham and Charles Keating of the daytime drama Another World, actually opened the theater. Since then, the Odeum has been dedicated to presenting professional performances, ranging from jazz to Shakespeare, while also affording opportunities for local performers.

We also remain dedicated to helping other charitable causes. We are proud that our theater has hosted significant fund-raisers for a number of charities, including Project Aids, Cystic Fibrosis, the Timothy Lyons Scholarship Fund, Ronald McDonald House, the Ocean State Adoption Resource Exchange, the RI Holocaust Museum, and the East Greenwich Merchants Association.
