OUR MISSION
Oxbow exhibits artwork by regional artists and provides a venue for artist talks, films, and discussions. The monthly opening receptions are festive, free and open to the public. The gallery strives to be part of the fabric of the Easthampton community.
WHO WE ARE
In 2022, the gallery moved from Northampton to a new location at 40 Cottage Street in Easthampton, MA. Oxbow Gallery is a member-run cooperative gallery of 44 artists. We exhibit strong representational and abstract work by regional artists. Members pay dues, handle all operations as volunteers, and the artists plan and install their exhibits.
OUR HISTORY
The gallery was founded in 2003 by a group of Valley painters: Justin Kim, David Bradford, Cyndy Sperry, and Stanley Lewis. A volunteer lawyer, Roger Lipton, came up with the designation “not for profit cooperative.” The founding group recruited their colleagues, and the gallery was born.
