Mohonk Mountain House is not open to the public on the 4th of July. An overnight reservation is required to join in the 4th of July activities.

Schedule of Events
9:30AM - 12:30PM: Morning Kids' Club: Fourth of July Celebration
Come to Kids’ Club for a morning of fun! Options will include rousing rounds of Gaga Ball, or relaxing and creating a colorful banner for our July 4th parade. Drop-off is available during the first half hour of any program for ages 4-12 only. A waiver must be completed for each child before their first session via the QR code at the Main Bulletin Board or Kids’ Club.
10:00AM: Brisk Morning Hike
Guided hike along Lake Shore Road, Undercliff Path, Lamdin’s Glen, to Eagle Cliff Loop. Approximately 3.5 miles. Age 7 and up. Proper footwear is required, sneakers or boots, no flip-flops or sandals
10:45AM: Guided Mountain Bike Ride
Enjoy a peaceful evening bike tour, visiting some of Mohonk’s most stunning views. Finish the ride at Cope’s Lookout, where you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking westward panorama as the sun sets. $40 mt. bike or $75 for an E-bike & helmet rental fee. Arrive 15 minutes early for fitting. Ages 16 and up. Approximately 4 miles.
11:00AM: Log Roll Challenge: Round 1
Come compete in our annual log roll challenge. Top 2 from each age group will advance to the final round at the 4:30 p.m. Water Show. Ages 7-12, 13-17, and 18+. Assumption of risk form required for all participants.
12:00PM: Trumpet Across the Lake
From 1902 until the mid-1950s, bugle calls were performed daily throughout the summer to announce meals and entertainments. We are pleased to recreate this tradition on the Fourth of July with trumpeter Aaron Flagg. Best enjoyed from the East side of the House facing Lake Mohonk.
2:00PM: Parade Formation
If you want to march in the parade, please join us as we form the parade order. Come dressed up in costume or your favorite red, white, and blue attire! We step-off promptly at 2:15 p.m.
2:15PM: Fourth of July Parade
Gather around the Putting Green to watch our annual Fourth of July Parade! Clap your hands to the sweet sounds of “The Hudson Seven” Riverboat Marching Band as you cheer for our parade line, including one-of-a-kind floats, employees in costume, participants decked out in red, white, and blue, and the Mohonk Fire Truck! If you want to march in the parade, please join us as we form the parade order just outside Valet at 2pm. We step off promptly at 2:15pm.
2:30PM - 4:00PM: Fourth of July Carnival
As the parade ends, follow our Riverboat Marching Band and pop over to our carnival for more fun! Popcorn, caricatures, and games abound alongside tastes of our local Hudson Valley Vendors. Make sure to snap a family photo in this year’s photo booth!
4:30PM: 4th of July Water Show
Join us for this annual Mohonk tradition of family friendly water competitions including porch diving! Ages 7 and up can participate in their age category with parental permission. Registration is required to participate in the Water Show. Parents must sign up their children between 9:30am – 3:30pm at the Information Summerhouse located across from the Boat Dock. Guests will receive a wristband after they have registered, which must be worn to participate.

7:30PM - 8:45PM: Live Music: "The Hudson Seven" Riverboat Band
Take in the beauty of Lake Mohonk and begin the evening festivities with the Riverboat Band, a Hudson Valley group directed by saxophonist Jason Clinton. Their acoustic and brass melodies will be an incredible kick-off to the Illumination Ceremony.
9:15PM: Illumination of the Mountain Ceremony
As dusk settles, a peaceful reflection of brilliant color glows from rocky ledges to cliff-bound lake. A live musical performance paired with a spectacular fireworks display by Legion Fireworks, this is a unique way to celebrate July 4th—readings by Tom Smiley, Eric Gullickson, and Maria Guralnik.
9:45PM - 11:00PM: Square Dance with Eric Hollman Band
Join us after the show for a great night of traditional and family-friendly American contra, square, and circle dances to a live fiddle band! No experience necessary - fun for all ages!
