Looking for a family friendly way to kick off your summer fun. Look no further than Smith Mountain Lake State Park. We'll have lots of activities for you and your family to enjoy throughout the entire Memorial Day weekend. Some of the activities include a campfire, programs about our local wildlife, and kid-friendly crafts offered at our swimming beach. Our beach opens at 11 a.m. every day. Programs are free, but regular parking and beach fees apply.

Challenge yourself to name various songbirds found around . Join the interpretive ranger and see how many of our common birds you can identify.

2:00 p.m - 4:00 p.m: Memorial Day Weekend - Beach Kids: Crafts at Under tent below beach pavilion
Take some time to get out of the hot sun and join our park nature interpreter under the tent for some fun crafts.

5:00 p.m - 5:30 p.m: Memorial Day Weekend - Under the Surface Boat Ramp, at fishing pier
